The second part of my new series, Pros and Cons, has been posted over on my website!
In other news, because of a tiny scene that is begging to be written somewhere, I have decided that I must own a copy of See No Evil, the movie starring Kane.
Now, I watched The Condemned last weekend, and it was pretty damn good, even if I did spend most of the movie playing "spot the Aussie actor". Stoney was down on the Gold Coast filming The Condemned when I moved back to Brisbane two years ago, which gave me the warm and fuzzies. In fact, I had the chance to go down to Movie World for a meet and greet with him, and decided not to go, because I figured it would be a bit of a madhouse, and at the time, the old anxiety was seriously kicking my ass. Oh well.
And how cool was it to watch the start of the movie and think, "Hey, hang on a minute - I know that guy! That's Nathan Jones!" Good old Nathan - I often wondered what had happened to him. Pity about his WWE career, but nice to think he may have a way back in vis WWE Films. His fight scene with Stoney was pretty damn terrific.
Anyway, I was checking out information about See No Evil, and I surfed onto Wikipedia - yeah, yeah, I know, most of the time it can't be trusted, but hey, at least it gathers together a lot of information and bullshit in one place, saving me from having to trawl for it myself!
And I discovered it was filmed in Australia. On the Gold Coast. Why the hell was I not informed Glenn Jacobs was in the country? Goddamnit it! It was a few years before I moved back here, but still!
The film's official website is a bit of a hoot - apparently Glenn intimidated some of his co-stars. Ya think? When he's quoted (and I have no idea how accurate it is, since it was on Wikipedia and unsourced) on playing a psychopath, as responding with "I'm not acting."
But the funniest damn thing is the movie's MySpace page. The blog is . . . you know, if Glenn actually wrote it, then he's seriously interesting, in a darkly disturbed kind of way. But the thing that amuses me most is the details for See No Evil - the star sign is listed as Taurus, which is of course Glenn's star sign (and mine ) but his status is listed as "Swinger". That part had me in total fits!
So, fingers crossed that I win the auction for the DVD in two and a half days - it's not actually due to be released in Australia til later this month, and I have no idea why. Hell, they made the bloody thing here!
Anyway, back to the writing! It should almost be illegal to have this much fun, you know!
