There were so many people who wanted to say goodbye - my uncle touched so many lives in his years. And the service was as individual and cheeky as he was.
My cousins did a wonderful job of eulogising him with funny stories and anecdotes, reminding us all what a wonderful character he was, and what a void he will leave in our lives, but leaving us far richer for having known him.
He's been buried in the same cemetary as my dad, who's been gone an astonishing 27 years, although it seems like yesterday sometimes. And they're in adjoining sections, so Podge won't have to go far to find a mate to have a yarn and a drink. I just hope Heaven has laid in a goodly supply of VB in tall bottles - because, fair warning, if they haven't, he's not likely to stay long!
Rest in peace, Podge - see ya in a while.
